What is international roaming?

International roaming is a service that allows you to use your phone abroad by connecting to a foreign mobile operator’s network.

If you are in Poland and call a foreign phone number, this is treated as an international call, not roaming.

Before travelling, make sure that roaming is enabled on your number. You can check this in the Viking App → Profile → Number settings, as well as in your phone settings, in the section related to the mobile network or mobile data.

Roaming in the European Union (Euro Zone)

If you have an active Pod Prąd or Match plan, you can use services in regulated EU roaming on the same terms as in Poland. This means:

    • calls, SMS and MMS are charged the same as at home (no additional roaming fees),
    • each plan includes a data allowance available in the Euro Zone,
    • data used in roaming reduces your domestic data bundle.

Detailed information about the available EU roaming data packages can be found here.

Data allowances renew monthly (on the 1st day of the month), only if your plan is active.

You can find the full list of countries included in the Euro Zone here.

Can I use roaming if my plan is inactive?

Yes. If your plan (Pod Prąd or Match) is inactive, you can still use roaming services in the European Union (Euro Zone). In this case, all calls, SMS, MMS and data usage are charged from your available balance, in accordance with the price list of your offer - you can find more information here.

When using roaming in the European Union, the Fair Use Policy (FUP) applies, mainly in cases of long-term or permanent use of services abroad.

Detailed information about the FUP rules, the monitoring period and possible additional charges can be found here.

How does roaming outside the European Union work?

Outside the EU, charges depend on the roaming zone. The price list specifies rates for:

    • outgoing and incoming calls,
    • SMS/MMS,
    • data transmission.

Costs are higher than within the EU, so we recommend checking the rates in your offer’s price list before travelling. You can find more information here.

All charges for roaming outside the EU are deducted from your available balance. To use roaming services, you must have sufficient funds on your balance.
