Many myths have arisen around the topic of "porting a phone number" to another operator. Starting with the one where you have to sign countless papers to enable it, to the myth of completely losing your number if SOMETHING goes wrong. Don't worry, none of these things are true, and let's leave the fairy tales to other operators. So, how is it really with number porting?
The matter is clear from the very beginning. As long as you are not bound by a long-term contract with your current operator – you can easily jump to another provider, like us – Mobile Vikings ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). How does this process work?
1. You submit an application online
We'll need your ID! It will be necessary to verify your identity and complete the key data in the application. The data must naturally match the information held by your current operator. This is where you come to a crossroads, as you need to indicate whether:
How to port a number from a subscription plan?
Here you might need additional (hehe) reserves of patience, as everything depends on your current contract. If it has already ended and transitioned to an indefinite period, we suggest choosing the option "with notice period." However, if your contract with your current operator is still valid (you have to stick it out!), then definitely choose the "at the end of the current contract" date.
It's worth knowing that you can submit a number porting application up to 120 days before the end of your contract! Choose the offer you want to port your number to
Porting a number when you have a prepaid plan
Excellent. You don't have to wait for anything, and you can port your number at lightning speed. Excitement? Rightly so! In the application, select "the earliest possible date for porting the number" and you can sit by the window, waiting for the courier!
2. You have a nice signature, who do you give it to? That is, formalities during number porting
Silly question, of course, to the courier! The application we mentioned above will be sent to you free of charge via courier. The package will, of course, also contain a SIM card (in a 3-in-1 size, so it fits both in a smartphone and in technological achievements of bygone eras). Your ID will naturally also be needed during the courier's visit (alternatively, instead of an ID, it can be a passport or a permanent residence card), so they can verify the data provided in the application calmly and seriously. After a brisk nod and completion of all necessary formalities – the application returns to our hands.
If everything goes smoothly, and your current (previous?) operator doesn't make ANY PROBLEMS (don't worry, we usually retrieve the number smoothly, and our Help Desk is experienced in this!) then soon after, we will inform you about the planned date of porting your number to our network. You can monitor the status on your account or in the mobile app.
3. Number ported! Everything works
That's it! 24 hours before the planned number porting, we will ceremoniously let you know so you don't forget to swap the SIM card we sent you. At no point do you lose access to the service.
Did it hurt? Did it involve a lot of formalities? Do you feel like number porting could become your favorite sport? We hope you answer only in the negative to the first two questions, and that you already have the number porting form open in the background. Which one? Well, take it and port:
Simple? Simple!
