I don't like boring smartphones. I don't like them as a reviewer, because that's not why I use over thirty different ones every year with a Viking SIM card, only to have them all blend together later. 🙃 And how can I, in good conscience, recommend a "new, exceptional model" to readers if, in practice, it differs from the previous season's model mostly by a higher price? 🤔 On the other hand, for ordinary users, boredom often doesn't cause harm. They don't use thirty smartphones a year, but one or, well, three. But that's still a lot.
Samsung Galaxy S23 – Phone Design
The Samsung Galaxy S23 is the perfect phone for people who have partied enough and now just want to settle down. 😇 Novelties? Actually, none! 🥱 The Koreans submerged the camera island known from the S22, and now only individual lenses protrude from the casing. If it weren't for this detail, the latest Galaxy would look identical to its predecessor. That is, and let's be clear – it looks exceptionally elegant anyway.
Its back doesn't collect fingerprints, and the body fits perfectly in the hand. 📱 A 6.1” screen, petite by today's standards, is something you rarely encounter in flagships anymore. If you have the S22, this is the moment you can ostentatiously yawn. 😜 However, if you're genuinely looking for a new phone to last for years, your eyes will probably light up. 🤩
Samsung Galaxy S23 – An Improved Version of the S22
Under the hood? As usual, there are more numbers than letters in the promotional materials. 5% faster here, 12% more there. 🧐 This is how life is in an era of great technological progress. Functions that were missing before are still missing. No advertising potential – although, credit where credit is due to Samsung, almost nothing was missing. 🤩 Nevertheless, the S23 is one of the few exceptional cases where the actual differences compared to its predecessor are better seen in real-world performance, not benchmarks.
Samsung Galaxy S23 – Battery
On a single charge, the battery lasted me a full day – much longer than the S22. 🔥 All applications opened noticeably faster. 🏃 It edited photos more efficiently, didn't overheat as much when playing demanding titles. It remained as cool as an Icelandic glacier, never dropping a single animation frame in the interface. Wow! 😍 Despite seemingly minor changes, the S23 truly works both better and longer than the S22. 💪
Samsung Galaxy S23 – Camera
In terms of cameras, it's also seemingly no major changes. And for the most part, not even minor ones! All three lenses on the back are exactly the same units we know from the S22. Still excellent. I can't imagine someone buying an S22 and complaining about the camera – but I'm slightly left wanting. 😐 However, I noticed that the new model handles zoom, night photos, and high-resolution video better. This is likely due to the new processor. Overall – top-notch! 🥳 Although it's a shame the wide-angle lens didn't get macro photo capabilities.
Samsung Galaxy S23 – Screen and Speakers
The screen and speakers have also taken a tiny step forward compared to the S22. 🚶 And again – seemingly nothing exciting, but how can you complain about one of the best smartphone multimedia sets on the market? 🙃 The only thing I can complain about is the charging speed. The unchanged 25W and nearly an hour and a half to reach 100% is not befitting a smartphone costing almost 5000 PLN.
Even with this minor blemish on its flagship honor, the S23 is a complete, reliable device. 💪 The Samsung Galaxy S23 has four years of support with new Android versions, an interesting DeX mode that turns it into a desktop computer. Plus, plenty of other small touches that I appreciate Samsung for. 🤩
As a tester, I am disappointed with this year's "Galaxy". It didn't give me emotions, and yet "rogues are loved more!". 😆 It's just a "remaster" of the Galaxy S22, a minor evolution, without huge leaps forward, or even sideways jumps. For you, however, it will be the most cohesive and refined small flagship on the market. Your relationship with it will surely be long and fruitful. 😍
