How to set up prepaid internet for your laptop?

However, it has the drawback that it's hard to pack into a backpack and take with you on a journey. And for a Viking, longship expeditions are almost a daily occurrence, right? Of course, you can also use it on your laptop, for example, via a SIM card. Provided that your laptop supports this type of network connection, meaning it is equipped with a SIM card slot. This is the most convenient solution, as it eliminates the need for external routers.
To install a SIM card and use mobile internet on a laptop equipped with a SIM card slot, follow these steps:
- Turn off the device and disconnect it from the power source. The SIM card slot can be located on the side of the casing, next to other ports, or in the battery compartment (in which case you'll need to remove the battery).
- Insert the SIM card into the slot (you'll hear a characteristic click after it's in place) and turn on the device.
- After the system starts, you'll need to activate the mobile service. If you're using Windows, go to Settings: Network & internet, Cellular. Then, use the function – Use this SIM card for cellular data transmission – and the device will determine if it automatically connects to the cellular data network when available.

Not every laptop on the market has a SIM card slot and the ability to connect to the internet via a cellular network. However, for Vikings, nothing is impossible. Mobile internet for your laptop can also be connected through a portable router with modem functionality or an external modem.
Routers are currently equipped with very capacious batteries, allowing for many hours of work without needing to be recharged. The SIM card slot is most often located on the side of the device. The card should be inserted into the slot the correct way and the router turned on. To initiate the connection, you may need to enter the router's IP address in your browser's address bar. The number should be provided by the operator. If not, it's usually 192.168.8.1. The system will ask for the SIM card's PIN and login details, which should also be provided by the operator.
If you have an external modem (a device the size of a USB stick), simply plug it into a USB port on your laptop.
You can also use your smartphone as a router. In your phone's settings, use the option: Internet sharing. This will allow you to create a Wi-Fi network to which you can connect your laptop.
Prepaid internet for your laptop without a contract
We started with the convenience and independence that mobile internet provides. These wouldn't be possible without the high bandwidth that allows for both comfortable multimedia consumption on increasingly numerous streaming platforms and lightning-fast file downloads from the network.
