Virtual reality will soon become our everyday reality. And mobile enthusiasts will gladly embrace this new everyday life – according to research conducted by Ericsson ConsumerLab.
Cutlery from a 3D printer, three-dimensional selfies, or human holograms – does it sound like science fiction? It might soon become reality and permanently settle into our daily lives. Research indicates that over the next few years, the use of information presented visually will significantly increase, and virtual reality (VR) is highlighted by smartphone users as the most popular visualization medium. We are also excited about the prospect of living in virtual reality and are even testing it. We hope to invite you to participate in a special VR event soon.
In the conducted research, as many as eight out of ten respondents stated that at least one of the twelve virtual reality applications listed in the survey is interesting and worth introducing to the market.
The greatest interest among future virtual reality users is the ability to see products in their real size before purchasing them online. When shopping online, respondents would also gladly create a three-dimensional model of their bodies.
Virtual maps, films displayed all around the viewer, online technical support, and VR glasses for athletes also enjoyed great popularity among respondents. Our lives will undoubtedly soon be revolutionized by products from 3D printers, such as cutlery or toys, as well as human holograms, which could participate in conferences or meetings instead of us.
