AS A SOCIETY, WE HAVE NOT ONLY TIGHTENED OUR BELTS AND STAYED HOME, PERFORMING OUR DUTIES REMOTELY, BUT WE ARE ALSO WORKING TO IMPROVE THE SITUATION IN THE FACE OF THE EPIDEMIOLOGICAL THREAT. WHAT ARE PEOPLE DOING IN THESE DIFFICULT TIMES?
LARGE-FORMAT MASKS
The issue of increased demand for protective masks has appeared in the media many times. There's no hiding it, the demand for all means of protection that can help medics in their dangerous work, as well as protect people in their daily lives, is enormous. In response to the shortage, a company from Gliwice comes to the rescue. Opinion, a company specializing in large-format printing, has so far created, among other things, banners and giant flags appearing at sporting events. Currently, it is dedicating its materials and production capabilities to masks, which it is providing free of charge to local hospitals.
VISORS STRAIGHT FROM THE PRINTER
A grassroots initiative of 3D printing enthusiasts called #DrukarzeDlaSzpitali (Printers For Hospitals) has developed a way to produce so-called protective visors. These masks, in the form of transparent plastic plates, are intended to help prevent droplet infection. The visors produced by 3D designers will support the supply of medical and uniformed services. If you own a 3D printer, be sure to visit the Drukarzy Dla Szpitali page, where you will find ready-to-use designs.
Today, from the comfort of our homes, we not only ensure that you can connect with the world without problems…
CHEAP RESPIRATORS
VentilAid – this is the name of the "last resort respirator" project created by engineers from Krakow, which can be made at home. The company Urbicum has made the design available for free. The authors assure on the project website that the prototype can be printed using a 3D printer in about 15 hours. The materials used for its production are widely available, and the total cost should be around PLN 200. The group is working on another model powered by a standard socket or a car battery.
MOBILE VIKINGS ROLLING UP ITS SLEEVES
We also do not intend to passively observe the situation. We have always put the community of our network first, saying "Everything for our own." Today, from the comfort of our homes, we not only ensure that you can connect with the world without problems, but we are creating a solution that will help connect those most in need of support with those who can help. Our experienced and well-coordinated Helpdesk will launch a line in the coming days, which will become another weapon in the fight against coronavirus. When "Everything for our own" is not enough, Mobile Vikings joins forces with a new slogan – "Everything for everyone"!
