We have concluded the voting in the 13th edition of Lifeboats – our community project in which we transform gigabytes into real help. The Vikings have decided: together, we will create Dream Libraries in children's hospitals with the K.I.D.S. Foundation.
How did the voting proceed?
A total of 29 projects were submitted for this year's edition – and these were special projects, as they were submitted by Captains (Vikings who built their Crews).
1649 people cast their votes. This is as much as 35% more than in the previous edition. Not only Mobile Vikings users could vote. We also invited those who are NOT YET part of our community to choose the winning project. This is how the votes were distributed:
- 1180 Vikings (72%);
- 469 people still outside the community (28%).
This clearly shows that good can spread wider than just among the Vikings. And that's great!
Voting results
But let's get to the point, oops, the results. The most votes went to:
- 👶 Dream Library – 484 votes (winner);
- ⛰️ Barrier-free trails – 461 votes;
- 👵 Safe haven for seniors – 446 votes;
- 🥣 Soup in Planty Park – 258 votes.
Everyone says that, sure, but this time the battle truly went down to the wire. Which, incidentally, shows how close the three most frequently chosen projects were to each other.
Thanks to the winning project – submitted by ViQeen Magda – libraries full of books will be created, allowing children in hospitals to transport themselves into magical worlds – to forget about everyday life, if only for a moment.
The next stage of the 13th Lifeboats is ahead of us – the gigabyte collection.
How does the collection work?
The mechanism is simple: 50 GB = 5 zł.
One person can transfer gigs only once from one number. Our goal is to collect 200,000 GB, which we will then convert into zlotys (20,000 zlotys). We are launching the gigabyte collection today (October 7, 2025) and will continue until the goal is reached. Knowing your generous hearts, it won't take too long.
What always moves me about Lifeboats is the fact that the strength of the community translates into real change. From edition to edition, we see increasing engagement from Vikings and people outside our community. The Dream Library is a project that can bring smiles and comfort to hundreds of children – and I believe that together we will quickly reach our goal – says Karolina Marciniak, Lifeboats Project Manager.
Let's remember, however, that collecting gigs and converting them into zlotys is just the beginning. Real help goes deeper – but we will inform about this in subsequent posts and on the Lifeboats page.
13 editions and a lot of good
Since 2020, as part of Lifeboats, we have collected over 311,000 GB, which amounted to over 131,000 zł to support charitable organizations. In the record-breaking 11th edition, as many as 1773 Vikings donated their gigabytes! Thanks to previous editions, we supported, among others:
- men fighting depression (the 'Take the load off your mind' campaign);
- parents in cooperation with the Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę Foundation;
- lonely seniors with the mali bracia Ubogich Foundation.

We have the voting stage behind us – now, together with the K.I.D.S. Foundation, we are starting to promote the gigabyte collection. Once collected, we will turn them into real actions: libraries will be created that will brighten hospital wards.
