Online stores offer hundreds of mobile tools for winter enthusiasts. We've selected five free apps that we think are worth your attention. We considered not only their popularity but also user ratings. The more stars an app received, the more closely we examined it.
1⃣ OnTheSnow Ski & Snow Report
An app that provides a summary of slopes from around 2,000 peaks: from the United States, Canada, and Europe. Polish resorts are also included: with a few clicks, you can check conditions in Zieleńce, Wisła, or Karpacz. Thanks to OnTheSnow, you'll also learn how many lifts individual slopes offer, what the skiing conditions are like, and the difficulty level of each route.
2⃣ Bergfex/Ski Lite
This app offers quick weather information for slopes in several countries, including Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and Poland. You can check lift operating hours, the length of individual slopes, and the weather. There are also links to accommodation and ski rental websites. An additional advantage is its very lightweight version – the Lite version of Bergfex/Ski will take up less than 8 MB of your smartphone's memory.
3⃣ Skiresort.info
An app with all the most important features for winter sports enthusiasts. You'll find opening hours for individual slopes, approximate prices for ski passes, and information about lifts. Importantly, you can save your favorite routes in the app's memory, and then – even if you lose signal – you can access them from the app's cache. Skiresort.info has another interesting feature. It's called "shake it" and is for the most spontaneous users. Don't know where to go for your next trip? Just shake your phone and let the app decide for you.
4⃣ Ski Phone – Hands Free Camera
No more frozen hands on the slope. Thanks to this app, you can answer calls and take photos without taking off your gloves. Simply shake your phone vertically to answer or end a call, and diagonally to activate the phone's camera.
5⃣ Ski amadé Guide
With this app, you can use pre-set routes tailored to your skiing or snowboarding abilities. Are you just starting out? Or perhaps you've been skiing for 20 years and aren't afraid of advanced slopes? The app will help you choose the right trail. You can also find additional information about the region you're visiting, slope maps, and of course – the weather, with just a few clicks.
Skiers and snowboarders traveling abroad don't need to worry about roaming – your phone will automatically connect to a local operator with whom Mobile Vikings has signed an agreement. PS To make calls abroad, it's worth checking the price list beforehand. Users of No Limit plans should remember that purchased bundles only work within Poland.
