Hi, Viking Maciek here. Receiving the realme 6 phone for testing, I was curious about the new brand on the Polish market, and most importantly – how the model I received would perform. For the past two weeks, I've been really pushing the device. 💪 What came of it? For now, you'll have to take my word for it, but if you like alternative choices, this is a good piece of hardware for good money. I invite you to test the realme 6!
What is realme?
The realme brand was founded on May 4, 2018, so it's relatively new. To date, it has sold over 35 million devices. 🤯 Although it was founded in China, its smartphones have so far debuted mainly in the Indian market, where realme's share has just exceeded 14 percent (and India is home to over 1.3 billion people, so it's a really big market). The brand entered the Polish scene on April 2, 2020, presenting, among others, the realme 6 model, about which you will learn everything shortly. If you are curious about what other models are available for purchase in our country, I invite you here - Realme Store. However, the premiere of the realme 6 itself was quite quiet – there were no major campaigns in the mainstream media. Vikings like that. Enough about the brand, let's get to the phone!
The realme 6 is theoretically a representative of the lower-mid price range. However, looking at the specifications, it's closer to the mid-range. I decided to check it out, and here are the results of my two-week adventure with this device.
If you prefer watching to reading – skip straight to the bottom where you'll find the video review. 🍿 But even if you read it, it's worth taking a look. Let's start!

The realme 6 stands out in its category primarily for its 90Hz screen, very fast charger ⚡ – included in the set, of course – and a mini-jack connector. The presence of this socket in a phone has become less common recently, which is a shame.
The device itself has the most important functions that a smartphone at this price typically offers. We'll find an NFC module, the latest Bluetooth 5.0, a USB-C port, and – which might please you – two nano SIM slots and an additional microSD slot supporting memory up to 256 GB. So, we don't have to give up the microSD card when using two SIM cards in the phone.
The realme 6 is powered by an octa-core Mediatek Helio G90T processor, which, combined with 8GB of RAM (in my model), does a really great job in games 🎮, not to mention the comfort of everyday use.
What's in the box?
In the yellow box, we'll find: a fast, 30-watt charger, a USB-C cable, a silicone case, and of course, the phone. Additionally, the screen was already equipped with a protective film by the manufacturer ☔ – while it's not the same level of protection as glass, it's applied so well that you can barely see it, making it worth leaving in place.
Modules: NFC
Let's start with contactless payments using the NFC module, which I used for the first time during the realme 6 tests. After installing Google Pay and connecting my payment card – I went to a nearby store full of stress, but also hope, held the phone to the terminal, and… yes, it worked. Test passed! 😎 By the way, I have an important piece of advice for you – it's really worth checking the information about the device you intend to buy thoroughly, preferably from multiple sources. From what I've noticed, on a certain popular website describing phone specifications, NFC is marked as absent in the realme 6 model. This is not true – otherwise, they wouldn't have let me out of the store. 😁
Modules: Navigation
The phone also has GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou, which makes navigation itself seem problem-free and, most importantly from a normal user's perspective – it updates the route instantly if you take the wrong turn, for example. 🚗 And speaking of navigation! We can still enjoy a Polish voiceover in Google Maps. The question is, for how much longer.
Modules: Bluetooth
I connect to wireless headphones via Bluetooth 5.0, and pairing has not been a problem for the phone so far. I rate the sound quality, both via Bluetooth and the mini-jack connector, very highly; I haven't noticed any issues here. 🎧 However, I must honestly admit that I'm not an audiophile, so my assessment might not be precise enough in this case. I also checked the sound coming from the phone's speakers, and despite having only one output, it's pleasant throughout its entire range, although at maximum volume, it can get a bit harsh. 🔊 So, it could be better.
First thoughts?
Alright! I'm now thinking about the questions that might be popping into your heads. Let's say I chose the 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage version (which I have), I have a 90Hz screen and a pretty powerful processor – how long will that last me, and will the smoothness itself satisfy me?
My answer is – I don't know. I can assess the phone from the perspective of the last 2 weeks of working with it, and so far, I honestly admit that I haven't held a smoother device. 😍 I've done many game tests, which you'll see below, and in every case, even at maximum settings – they provided me with gameplay in full smoothness and without any signs of the phone overheating. In my opinion, this is a really great value of this device, which, along with the originally installed Android 10 in Polish language – will likely guarantee you many months of trouble-free operation.

Summary
I approached the realme 6 phone with reservations. I thought that with a device from a manufacturer unknown to me, I might encounter something unpolished. Ultimately, after many hours spent using it daily, I have to admit that it's a really good piece of hardware that's hard to fault with major problems. For someone who values price/quality ratio, this device could easily become an alternative to brands like Redmi (Xiaomi). 🎯 In terms of comparisons, the realme 6 gets a big plus for its exceptionally smooth, 90Hz screen, as well as the fast charger included in the set, which is rare for phones in this price range. We might expect slightly more screen brightness or the use of different casing materials (well, maybe that's just me having a problem with it, let me know). However, when compared to the benefits this model offers, which are hard to find from competitors – it shapes up to be a really solid player. We'll see what time will tell, but from now on, I'll definitely start paying attention 🧐 to this manufacturer, and I sincerely encourage you to do the same.
Is that all I've prepared for you? Of course not!
