At Mobile Vikings, we're all about connecting people. 💗 We love to invite our Vikings to share their thoughts on various topics. The voice of our community is very important to us and shapes our identity. We welcome both constructive criticism and positive feedback.
We believe that good deeds come back to you. 😍 We practice the idea of spreading good news within the Mobile Vikings team as well. 🤝 For 3 years, we've been running the Share a Kind Word campaign. 💬
How it all started?
The year 2020 was tough for many of us. We were battling the pandemic and worried about our health. We spent this difficult time mostly in the comfort of our homes, working remotely. 🏠 The Mobile Vikings team also broadcast from their private command centers, whether it was a comfy couch 🛋️ or a home desk. True to our Viking spirit, we tried to make this time more enjoyable and diverse. ❤️ We wanted to feel like the cohesive and connected community we always are.
The idea of kind words
Viqueen Ola came up with an idea to bring smiles to our faces. 🥳 It was an online form where everyone could write a kind word to a colleague. Before Christmas 2020, each of us received a beautiful letter filled with pleasant messages. 💌
For those who weren't sure what to write, Ola included some special prompts in the form. You could write:
- Thank you for...,
- I like you for...,
- I admire you for...,
- I respect you for...
A bit of statistics 📈
Despite the pre-Christmas and New Year's rush, the Mobile Vikings team got involved in the campaign. 🎄 Responses were collected in early December, and we received our letters before Christmas.
In 2022:
- we wrote almost 500 messages, 💪
- as many as 31 people on board put words on paper.
Why are kind words important?
HRM Institute research shows that happy moments at work are important to 98% of respondents. Only ⅓ of respondents indicated that this topic is important to the company they work for. Positive emotions translate into teamwork and relationships between employees. As many as 81% of people participating in the study expressed such opinions.
Sharing kind words lowers stress levels, increases motivation to work, and provides energy to act. 😹 Respondents value a good atmosphere and the opportunity to express their own opinions the most (79% of responses).
The atmosphere within the team affects our relationship with Vikings. We believe that even the smallest gesture can bring a smile to your face. 😊 And we want to start and end every day with such a smile.
