If you didn't manage to grab a significant haul during the last raid, and instead lost an ear in battle, the OPPO Reno 11F is the perfect smartphone for you!
When we buy a smartphone for a thousand or fifteen hundred PLN, we naturally want it to serve us as well as possible, but just like in our own lives, its most important goal is to SURVIVE AS LONG AS POSSIBLE.
Sure, best-in-class photos or lightning-fast charging are nice additions, but the key thing is, above all, that the phone remains above the "I can't last any longer, it's time for a replacement" warning level for as long as possible.
Features of the OPPO Reno 11F that will allow it to live longer
And it just so happens that the Reno 11F has several features that can potentially allow it to live healthily (its own health, and yours mentally too, because a malfunctioning smartphone can drive you crazy) for a very long time. First and foremost, its IP65 water and dust resistance certification. You know, nobody deliberately gives their phones relaxing baths, but the knowledge that closer acquaintance with liquids won't harm it is somehow reassuring. And you can always wash its back under the sink!
But it's like with a newborn – frequent baths are unnecessary, because the matte-textured back stays clean excellently. Like a newborn, the Reno 11F is also lightweight – despite a 6.7-inch screen, it weighs only 177 grams, so if our hands are full, we can simply blow under it to keep it airborne. 😉 Like a feather!
Sufficiently long technical support for the phone
Three years of Android updates and four years of security patches are a great result in this price range, especially since the Reno debuts with the current Android 14 – some companies cheat a bit in this regard, releasing hardware with an outdated system to stores, and then graciously updating it. I won't name names, but it's Xiaomi.
The rest of the parameters should also age gracefully. The OLED display with a fast refresh rate even supports wide color gamut content – meaning, for the uninitiated, movies can look nicer. The main camera takes very good photos, and the front camera even allows for 4K video recording, which is not standard even in flagships. Aspiring vloggers will be delighted! Who knows, maybe they'll achieve success because of it and immediately buy a more expensive phone on the wave of that success? Well, that's life! The ultrawide angle and macro lens aren't as spectacular, but kudos to them for being there at all – at least the former is quite useful.
I was also impressed by the fast charging (45 minutes to 100%), over a day of battery life on a single charge, 256 GB of fast built-in storage (here, a microSD card slot acts as an anti-aging serum), and 8 GB of RAM. The processor? It might not be a powerhouse, you can find much more powerful smartphones at this price, but OPPO is known for good optimization.
Drawbacks of the OPPO Reno 11F
Okay, so where are the drawbacks? Well, there are two. Firstly, there aren't two. Two speakers, that is. The Reno plays sound from only one speaker, and it's not a tragic sound (there's also an extreme volume boost mode), but for this money, I'd want my full set of ears to be properly taken care of. Secondly, the 11F has followed the path of high-end phones. But no, not in terms of computing power and specs – in terms of the lack of a charger in the box. Of course, everyone has some charging brick at home, but we'll only achieve the maximum 67W power with a compatible OPPO charger, which is an additional expense of at least 100 PLN. Not cool.
However, apart from that, the 11F is, in my opinion, a complete device that will give us several years of peace.
