Oppo's Return to Poland – A Treat for Gadget Enthusiasts
For gadget lovers, the most important and best return of November – it beats even the lumberjack in McDonald's.
I've always had a soft spot for Oppo smartphones. It's a brand that aims for the premium segment in its native China, but unlike Apple or Samsung, it does so boldly. For them, being prestigious doesn't mean they should be afraid of new solutions and develop their phones as slowly as possible – just enough to keep selling.
Oppo in Poland – The Find Series Returns to the Limelight
No, from spectacular cameras to the first truly fast charging on the market, Oppo has been going all out for years! Well, except maybe for the Polish market, which it hasn't. While their phones are available here, it's been very selective for a while. They brought their foldables to Poland, but only the cheaper ones – there were never equivalents to the Galaxy Fold. Several recent traditional flagships also skipped our country. What, are we supposedly not able to afford them? Hold my axe!
Oppo Find X8 Pro – Premium Design and Functional Extras
And it's a shame, a shame about the lost time, because the flagship Find X8 Pro has just debuted here, and I've fallen in love with it. An elegant matte finish, even on the frames, with a silver camera island bearing the legendary Hasselblad logo. You know the logo is just a logo and more of an advertisement than a testament to the real quality of the cameras, but somehow it subconsciously affects you. A beautiful device!
Beautiful, but also powerful and durable, like a Vikingess! The IP69 water resistance rating (awesome!) means the Find X8 Pro can withstand even water being sprayed at it under significant pressure. Plus, there are two bonus features on the sides – a slider for switching between silent mode and ringtone, like on old iPhones, and a slider button for camera operation. Like on new iPhones.

And it's worth using the camera as much as possible because it's magnificent. Four lenses, democratically each with autofocus, similar color reproduction, and a resolution of 50 megapixels. Why four? In many phones, the fourth, or even third, lens is just a gimmick, but here they are all useful. There's an ultra-wide angle perfect for architecture, a standard lens perfect for... well, photos, a three-times portrait zoom, and a six-times typical zoom which, with the help of AI algorithms, produces very clear photos even at x20-x30 magnification. I've been testing this set for a few days and I'm delighted with its versatility and quality. It's definitely one of the best camera smartphones out there.
Display and Multimedia – Entertainment at the Highest Level
The rest of the features are also befitting a flagship. The 120 Hz OLED screen with a refresh rate from 1 Hz saves energy. But it also uses a lot of it, because how can you not watch tons of movies on it when it looks beautiful and supports every possible HDR image display format? The speakers don't match the iPhone, but they do the job.
Software with AI and Android at its Best
Oppo is also known for its beautiful, user-friendly Android, here enhanced with several AI features such as generating your portraits, editing photos, or summarizing internet articles – the latter, unfortunately, only in English. Well, okay, and in Mandarin. Interested? The manufacturer promises 5 years of system version updates – also very nice.
Charging and Battery – Fast, but Not Perfect
The discharge-charge set (yes, I know, such words don't exist) is almost perfect. The Find X8 Pro can charge to full in 50 minutes, but only with an Oppo charger, which isn't in the box... In my tests, with other chargers, this time was closer to an hour and a half. However, fast wireless charging and reverse charging are welcome. This means it can charge headphones or a smartwatch left on its back.
Performance and Premium Features – Everything in Place
It works flawlessly, of course. MediaTek processors have a worse reputation than Qualcomm, but this latest one is no slouch in performance compared to the competitive Snapdragon 8 Elite. It's nice that eSIM and Wi-Fi 7, i.e., modern premium features, are included, as well as an infrared port – an old-fashioned premium feature that is still indispensable at times. Finally, you can show Aneta from corporate who controls the air conditioning! No, there's no microSD slot or headphone jack, but did you really expect them?
Conclusion – a Smartphone You Simply Like
I'm glad the Find series is back in Poland. I genuinely like this phone. Reliable and impressive camera, perfect performance, some nice little touches, it looks classy... even if you wanted to, it would be silly to find fault. If you have 5500 PLN to spend on a smartphone right now, firstly, congratulations, and secondly, it's worth considering.
