Mission accomplished! The Rescue Boats, which Vikings have been diligently filling through the Viking Store with accumulated gigabytes since mid-May, have been launched. 🚣♂️ They set sail early yesterday morning, sailed through the sea of needs, and filled with goods, they reached the organizations you chose. We supervised this process personally. And new plans are already dawning under our helmets…
Spring was all about helping! We launched our official Viking Support program, and a unique "gadget" arrived at the Viking Store: special Rescue Boats that allowed Vikings to exchange accumulated gigabytes for financial support for one of three foundations. The organizations were chosen together on Facebook, where every Viking could suggest their proposal. These were:
- Wrocław EkoStraż (Eco-Guard) 🐕🦔🐈
- Rehabilitation and Educational Center for Exceptional Children 👧👦
- Dolnośląski Pielęgnacyjno-Rehabilitacyjny Niebieski Parasol (Lower Silesian Care and Rehabilitation Center Blue Umbrella) ☂️
For the next two and a half months, you filled our Rescue Boats to the brim! Every 30 GB transferred from your account meant 10 PLN of support. Ultimately, you managed to transfer a staggering 15,750 GB for a noble cause! Respect for your generosity, Vikings! May Odin reward you in your children. 🙃
Yesterday morning, we took the appropriate amount from the treasure chests and went shopping to purchase the items that the first two of the aforementioned foundations indicated as most needed.
Helping EkoStraż!
Wrocławska EkoStraż is an Animal Protection Association that has been operating in and around the city for over 10 years. The goal of EkoStraż is to *protect animals, and in particular, to undertake all legally permissible interventions to help abused, homeless, and free-roaming domestic animals, as well as wild animals whose age or condition prevents them from surviving independently in the wild.* In this noble mission, the biggest problems are often daily matters – a lack of space for the ever-growing number of charges, problems with feeding them, and maintaining the health and cleanliness of this entire pack. 🐾
Our Rescue Boat was therefore filled with cans of delicious, high-quality food, kilograms of cat litter, hygienic pads, and infusions. See for yourselves how much we managed to gather!
We know that this entire supply is just a drop in the ocean of needs for the center on Miłoszycka Street. However, we believe that these few wagging dog tails and a few full bellies are worth it!
Rescue Boat for Exceptional Children
There are exceptional children in the world 🦄 with exceptional needs who require exceptional people to help them face their challenging daily lives. Children and young people with profound intellectual disabilities and complex needs find such people at the Rehabilitation and Educational Center for Exceptional Children in Wrocław.
To make the work of caregivers and teachers a little easier, improve their communication with their charges, and simply enrich their educational and therapeutic activities, we gifted them with essential equipment: a laptop and a tablet (with a 🐁, of course).
May they serve the children as best and as long as possible! And we take off our helmets and bow our heads to the center's staff. 🙇
Rescue Boats have sailed… what's next?
You didn't think that was the end, did you? Some boats have reached their destination, so it's time to build new ones! Throughout August, we're gathering wood and nailing boards. 🔨 We're also looking at the map to set the destinations for new floating-aid vessels. As always, we're counting on your help. Keep an eye out for the relevant thread on our Facebook and don't forget to suggest organizations that could use Viking support. We'll be transferring more gigabytes starting in September!
