The iPhone is still waiting for some kind of revolution, but in all its "boringness," it's bordering on perfection. And the Dynamic Island is awesome! 🤩
I remember the last time I eagerly awaited tests of a new Apple smartphone. It was the Winter of the Millennium, 1709. ☃️ We wanted to set off on a raiding expedition, but the entire sea froze over. We attached skates to the oars of our drakkar. ⛸️ It's Apple, with its pricing policy, that goes on raiding expeditions across Europe. 💰 In case you didn't know: in the USA, iPhone prices haven't changed compared to last year. Meanwhile, the entire Old Continent is now paying more for new models than a year ago. And more than currency exchange rate changes would suggest. 🤨
Dynamic Island in iPhone 14 Pro Max
Despite this insult, I was still hugely curious about the iPhone 14 Pro series. And it's all thanks to the "Dynamic Island." 📱 After many years, Apple has rid the screen of the notch characteristic of iPhones. It's been replaced by a cutout in the display. In itself, it looks as good as it sounds (i.e., pretty mediocre). However, the Americans found a way to turn a potential flaw into an advantage. They turned the cutout into an interactive element that expands, shrinks, changes its shape, and displays various information depending on the open apps. 💪
Any signs of inventiveness in the boring smartphone market are as common and easy to find as traces of life on Mars. 🕵️ That's why I always appreciate them, and I really liked the "Dynamic Island" – even in person! While quick access to changing tracks in Apple Music or previewing directions in Maps doesn't change your life, they are nice little things that I got used to very quickly. Now I treat them as an integral part of the Apple operating system – I don't get excited, I just use them. And I'm satisfied! 👍
iPhone 14 Pro Max – Display
The second biggest innovation in the iPhone 14 Pro also relates to the display. We're talking about the "always-on display" option. It allows the time, selected widgets, and notifications to be displayed continuously, 24/7. 🥳 Android phones have had a similar feature since the aforementioned winter of the millennium. 🥶 However, none of them implemented it as impressively as Apple. The iPhone displays not just a few icons and the time on a black background, but a full, colorful window with the wallpaper.
Did you go on a Viking expedition to plunder a few nearby villages? Would you like to be able to constantly look at the beautiful face of your loved one? The always-on display on the iPhone will allow you to do that! 💪 You could also take your fiancée with you, but the iPhone is probably cheaper. 😅 And if it gets damaged, the loss isn't as great.
iPhone 14 Pro Max – Price
Although it's quite substantial – the Pro Max in the cheapest storage version, 128 GB, costs 7199 PLN. In return, you get perfectly smooth performance, an excellent display, and loud stereo speakers. 🤩 Undeniably, for that kind of money, it's nothing extraordinary – simply fulfilling an obligation. I'm more convinced to spend more on Apple by the quality of the videos recorded by this smartphone. It's truly unrivaled, and I plan to use it as a second camera for my YouTube channel. 🎥 This application has a rather narrow audience.

And what about the photos? 📷 The camera is simple to use and reliable. That's why I like iPhones. Photos rarely come out blurry – even when you're taking a selfie 🤳 while smashing an opponent's skull (as a souvenir from your cousin's wedding). Photos from all lenses have similar colors. Another thing is that the detail in the photos is worse than in some flagship competitors. 🙁 I can't wait to compare it with the Samsung Galaxy S23 at the beginning of February!

What kind of battery does the new iPhone have?
I also rate the battery and charging as "only" about okay. Battery life on a single charge is excellent. However, recharging is as slow as in a phone costing 719 PLN, not a model costing 7199 PLN. 🐢 Overall, this phone doesn't have any unequivocally weak points; it's simply very good. The problem is that there are many very good, but cheaper, models.
Apple Services in iPhone 14 Pro Max
The real strength of iPhones at the moment is the ecosystem of services and accessories. 💪 We're talking about iCloud, Apple One subscriptions for games, music, and series, iMessage, and a convenient password manager. 🔐 Also noteworthy is the great integration with other company devices, or even charging via the MagSafe magnet. Using all of this is like captivity, but one where a Viking grandma is holding you. You get a lot of food, and overall you feel wonderful, until the moment you try to leave. And suddenly, it turns out to be very, very difficult. 😵
If I didn't have and wasn't planning to buy other Apple equipment, I wouldn't have decided on the smartphone alone. It's great, but definitely too expensive. 💸 But if you want to base your entire life on Apple, in the sense of planting an apple tree, 🌳 having a son, forcefully taking over a house in a conquered village, and building that famous ecosystem, then the 14 Pro Max will be a sensational choice.
