The consequences of Infinix's invasion of Poland are very serious. I had to postpone my beer 🍻 with friends by an hour to have time to write this text. And that's it for now.
Infinix Note 12 Pro Debuts in Poland
Until recently, I thought that the debuts of new brands on the Polish smartphone market were like the era of great geographical discoveries. 🌍 Those times were exceptionally exciting, but they have definitely passed. And here we are – the Chinese brand Infinix has set sail with its drakkar on the open waters. 🛶
Finally, after almost a decade of existence, it has reached Poland! And you might think there's something to be excited about, because high competition benefits customers. 👐 On the other hand, great discoveries usually involved wars, epidemics, exploitation, and incompetence. So maybe it's worth waiting for the situation to stabilize and not rush onto the Infinix ship on its very first voyage on our waters?
Infinix Note 12 Pro: Price
Infinix arrives from China, but on its way to us, it has managed to conquer many other markets. It gained the greatest popularity in Africa and India. And there, its strength, contrary to appearances, isn't a battle axe devastating opponents ⚔️ (though it's no wonder you Vikings thought that way). It's about the devastatingly good price-to-quality ratio of their devices. So, I hoped that Infinix would turn out to be like Xiaomi a few years ago. That Xiaomi, which hadn't yet realized that thanks to its popularity, it could dictate market conditions, become a chieftain, and sell its best models for 6000 PLN.
For testing, I took the Note 12 Pro model. I chose this one because it's a kind of "typical_mid-range_smartphone.jpg". It costs 1400 PLN, so it's within reach of most customers, but it's expensive enough that it shouldn't allow for too many compromises. I decided that it would be easiest to gauge the intentions of this newcomer through its example.

How are the impressions? It's okay. And that's probably the worst thing you can say about a debutant. Because both an outstanding product and an extremely bad one immediately plant their flag ⛳ on land and mark their presence. Products that are just okay are forgotten in about a week. 🤔
The Infinix Note 12 Pro offers the currently trendy flat back and sides cut as precisely as with the best Viking sword. It looks quite aesthetic, but a bit cheap – no exotic flair that an invader should stand out with! 🏝️
It's similar with the overall smoothness of operation. It will launch a game, it will obediently open an app, but as for any finesse or speed not seen in this price range – not at all! 🙅♂️
The AMOLED screen is large and provides very good image quality. 📱 Competition like Realme or Xiaomi often includes 90 Hz or 120 Hz refresh rates at this price. This was missing here. So what? To paraphrase a classic: "is this the premium smartphone for which we have to pay a fortune"?
A new brand should have the best features in its class to immediately win over the locals. No one will befriend some random Infinix when they have better-equipped hardware from a trusted company at hand. I am very pleased, however, with the stereo speakers. 📢 They might not sound the best, but their very existence in a device for this price deserves praise.
Infinix Note 12 Pro: Camera
The cameras are the most disappointing – they try to trick us, claiming they have many and offer numerous possibilities, but… It's like a Viking hiding from an opponent by pretending to be a buffalo. 🐃 And the whole ruse would consist solely of crouching on all fours in a standard horned helmet. I mean, something like that would work great as a sheep costume, but probably in a metaphorical sense.
The Note 12 Pro has three lenses on its back, but only one of them works. Seriously – I took a lot of test photos covering the other two, the depth sensor and the AI sensor, with my finger. There was absolutely no difference in the quality of the photos. Fortunately, the photos turn out quite well, as do selfies, 🤳 but to try to deceive us in such a cheap way… It would be better to invest the money spent on these paltry dummy cameras into one real one – a wide-angle lens, which is missing here.
To be fair, I really liked the Infinix's battery life on a single charge, as it easily lasted me two full days. 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage for 1400 PLN is more than I could ask for.
As a whole, however, the Note 12 Pro is definitely too bland to attract anyone's attention. Maybe it would have gotten away with it if it were the 7652nd Xiaomi model this year, but a "newcomer" should immediately impress us. And here it turned out like this:
– They've invaded us!!!
– What? Who? THEM? Oh, well, okay, shall we go for a beer?
It was supposed to be a plundering expedition, but the Note 12 Pro sits quietly like an enemy of Vikings under a broom and will likely pass unnoticed. I'm just starting tests of the more expensive Infinix ZERO Ultra, which looks much more intriguing and shows the brand's potential. We'll probably come back to it. 🙂
