How to create a Wi-Fi router on your phone?
Depending on the specific brand, the steps for sharing internet may vary slightly, so we'll go through them based on the most popular brand in Poland, Samsung, with the current version of Android.
Hotspot
- To use your phone as a Wi-Fi router, first turn off the Wi-Fi function in "mobile data".
- Then, go to "Settings" in the menu and then to the "Connections" tab.
- Click on the "Wi-Fi hotspot and tethering" option.
- Then select "Wi-Fi hotspot" and turn it on.
On an iOS phone, the process is just as simple. In "Settings", you should select "Personal Hotspot" and turn on the "Allow Others" option.
As you can see, this scheme hardly differs between the two operating systems, so you should have no problem enabling the hotspot function. Finally, all you need to do is turn on Wi-Fi on the target devices, select the name of the network you are sharing, enter the previously set password, and set sail on the vast expanse of the internet again.
Bluetooth
You can also share your network via Bluetooth. The process is just as simple as when you want to create a hotspot.
- First, go to "Settings".
- Then select "Connections".
- Go to "Wi-Fi hotspot and tethering".
- Select and turn on "Bluetooth tethering", and your device should be visible.
This is the fastest way to share a network between two smartphones. The devices need to be paired. They will connect when their users approve the option.
