The "Head Up" campaign, which we organized on July 15th for World No Mobile Phone Day, has been nominated for a Golden Paperclip 2016! We will compete for the award for the best PR campaign in Poland in the Technology, IT, Telecommunications category against Samsung Electronics Polska and Intel Polska.
The official list of finalists for the second stage of the XIV edition of the Golden Paperclips, the most prestigious PR competition in Poland, was announced on October 3rd. The campaign by Mobile Vikings and Publicon PR, the agency that assists us with communication activities, is among the three final PR campaigns in the technology, IT, and telecommunications sector. The winner will be announced in December.
– This is very welcome news for us. We organized the "Head Up" campaign to encourage our users to reflect on the amount of time we spend staring at our smartphones. We wanted to do something good and important in this way. And if it has also been noticed and appreciated by such a distinguished jury, we can only be happy and work on new, even more interesting projects – says Bartek Grabowski, Head of New Business at Mobile Vikings.
As part of the "Head Up" campaign, we designated two lanes on Świdnicka Street in Wrocław – one for people walking along the promenade with their eyes glued to their phones, and the other for passers-by who decided to tear themselves away from their smartphone screens. Even if just for a moment. And July 15th, World No Mobile Phone Day, was a perfect occasion for this. Our Vikings tried to encourage people to choose the right lane, and for stubborn phone users, they helped them safely complete their journey. You can read more about the campaign in our previous post.
The Golden Paperclips is a competition organized for 14 years by the Association of Public Relations Companies in Poland.
Every year, from among hundreds of submitted PR campaigns and projects, a jury selects the best ones in 27 sector categories. This year, the winners will be announced on December 2nd at a gala ceremony to be held at the Westin Hotel in Warsaw. You can find the full list of this year's nominees here.
