Beware of attempts to extract personal data under the guise of pre-paid SIM card registration. You cannot register your number over the phone.
Changes to the Telecommunications Act regarding the obligation to register pre-paid SIM cards came into effect on July 25th. In just these few days, scammers have already developed a plan to criminally exploit the new regulations. Media reports several attempts to extract personal data under the pretext of phone-based number registration.
The scammers' modus operandi is simple – posing as operators of various mobile networks, they call subscribers with an offer of quick and convenient card registration. All you have to do is provide them with your details over the phone or via an SMS response. We warn you – PRE-PAID SIM CARD REGISTRATION OVER THE PHONE IS NOT POSSIBLE. Such an action is an obvious attempt at fraud and extracting your personal data.
